• We operate with two logging crews using the most up-to-date equipment in the industry, which enables the harvesting of timber more quickly and efficiently. We have four (4) Hydro-Axes that cut the timber close to ground level. These machines also help to control the felling to minimize damage to the land and the residual timber.  Harvested trees are then taken to the “set” by seven (7) grapple skidders.  The “set” is a central location from which the trees are loaded onto the trucks by five (5) grapple loaders for shipment to the mills.  Our logging jobs follow all guidelines recommended in the BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES handbook published by the Texas Forestry Association to protect the environment.

  • We are Pro-Logger Certified by the Texas Forestry Association.  Foresters, Job Foremen and Kim R. Smith have attended classes mandated by TFA to obtain this certification.

  • The Pro-Logger Certification consisted of individual certifications in:
    • Best Management Practices
    • Silviculture, Wildlife, Wetlands, Endangered Species
    • Safety (Renewed Bi-Yearly)
    • Aesthetics & Communications
    • Business Management
    • Six Hours Continuing Education Yearly

  • Detailed legal contracts are executed for the protection of all parties involved.

  • Two graduate foresters are experienced in preparing Timber Management Plans.  These plans consist of different management options for the landowner and harvesting prescriptions (clear-cutting, selectively marked thinning which includes cull tree removal, shelter-wood, and seed tree harvests).

  • We offer assistance in Reforestation: Site preparations, tree planting and herbicide applications.

  • Timber Appraisals are conducted by the two professional foresters.

  • All our companies are fully insured.
